Our company’s energy modeling services assist various customers in achieving their targeted LEED points based on energy savings beyond baseline ASHRAE 90.1 and exhibit code compliance required by local and federal government energy standards.
University of Maryland Capital Region Medical Center
- The UMCRMC building is a 750,000 SF (69,677 SQ.M.) hospital building of an inpatient, outpatient, triage, cafeteria, and operational center.
- Morgan is hired to perform energy analyses on several building systems to identify the most energy efficient lighting, HVAC, and equipment. In addition, Morgan also performed the energy modeling for LEED certification, which assists the project in achieving the LEED Silver Level.
- The building utilizes highly efficient HVAC systems, including water-cooled chiller, condensing gas boilers, and combined heat power equipment.
- The recommended systems result in operational cost savings of $1,681,825 over the baseline design.
- Achieved 14 points in Optimized Energy Performance Credits.
- Assist the building owner in acquiring $2 Million Dollars BGE Incentive for a Combined Heat & Power System
MedImmune, Inc. Administration and Research & Development Campus
- The MedImmune campus is an 887,590 SF (82,459 SQ.M.) office and laboratory building (six connected buildings) in Gaithersburg, MD.
- Morgan is hired to perform an energy model and payback analyses on the entire campus building to compare multiple HVAC control upgrades on both airside and water-side systems, including Airside economizer reset, static pressure reset, and chilled water supply temperature reset.
- The building utilizes highly efficient HVAC systems, including water-cooled chiller, condensing gas boilers, and highly efficient air handlers.
- The energy analysis results assisted the building owner in the decision-making process to pursue the re-size of the HVAC systems due to the changes in the occupancy in the building over the years.
The ARC West
- Morgan performed an energy analysis on the building system design, including lighting and HVAC systems, to identify the most optimal energy efficient systems.
- The recommended system saved 32% of operational cost savings over baseline design.
- Because of the creative design of the project and design team, this project was awarded for USGBC (U.S. Green Building Council National Capital) Region's 2019 Innovative Project of the Year, New Construction – Commercial.
Laurel Medical Center
- The Laurel Medical Center building is a 71,000 SF (69,677 SQ.M.) hospital building composed of inpatient, outpatient, operating rooms, patient rooms, offices, and common areas.
- Morgan was contracted to perform energy analyses on the building systems, including lighting and HVAC systems, to identify the most optimal energy efficient systems.
- The recommended system saved 12% of operational cost savings over the baseline design.
McCormick Headquarter
- 360,000 SF office building with commercial kitchen facility and solar technology
- The design of solar panels assisted in 15% of the electric energy savings.
